So,
Our website has been down now for 6 hours starting from 3pm central. The problem seems to be the mysql server they use is down and so far, they can't get it back up.
They promise 24 x 7 phone support but to get their phone number, I need to login and I can't login because their database seems to be down, there's a pattern here.
Anyway, this blows big time. mysql seems to be the weak link in their managed hosting infrastructure. We routinely experience downtime on our site due to mysql failing at namesecure. I don't know if the problem is namesecure or mysql.
So, we're looking to jump ship and switch hosters. Problem is, who to switch to. Would they really be better? I'd trust rackspace over anyone BUT they don't split servers. So, I'd have to give em 400 bucks a month for a single server which isn't even fault tolerant. It's at least a couple of grand monthly for a 'proper' setup from my point of view which is just too much for us to pay right now.
Meanwhile, our site is still down, everytime someone goes to our site, I get an email telling me that mysql has failed. It sucks.
UPDATE:
11pm central and it's working again. The problem seems to be their mynamesecurehosting web site which seems to do security for support and mysql. That was down. The rep said the web sites were working. I pointed out that without the mysql database, what good is that? I asked what happened and what they did to make sure it didn't happen again, he wouldn't say. He also said that no company can stay up all the time which is true, but if EBay was down for 8 hours or Amazon, how big a deal is that? Granted, namesecure isn't EBay (as is clear from the downtime) but they are a web company, their only revenue generating asset is hosting. You'd think that makes it important. But, clearly, it's not. So, I reckon thats it, we're moving as soon as we can.
Realized substantial email is not forwarded by Namesecure since 2 days ago and with delays of up to a few hours for those forwarded. No warning and no status update on their site. Email seems to be simply lost or kicked back to sender!

email forwarding is worst for me. Mails were being returned to sender or coming in between 6 hours and 8 days after being sent. Namesecure advised me to upgrade to a Namsecure 50MB mailbox, cost me 30 bucks. Now all my mail si returned to senders, nothing gets through, two weeks I get fobbing off emails saying they are looking at it. All in all very sad

I found that with the phone number above I was able to get directly in touch with someone...a real person !!! :)
(703) 668-4600
After some serious treats I have been told that they will have my account corrected in an hour or so and that I will receive an email.
Keep your fingers crossed!!!! XXXXX
Everyone should keep people away from namesecure..no good!!!

THIS IS THE ANSWER!
877 307 1435 (option 4) is a number I got after calling (703) 668-4600 (above) which is actually Network Solutions, where the lovely Amanda told me she could "lean" on them to give disgruntled Namesecure customers a call back! Remains to be seen, but It's great PR that Network Solutions will try to help. In the meantime they have real 24/7 phone support. I will be transferring to them (yes $5 a year more, but WELL worth it for actual support) but not before I get whatever weasely scrotumless arrogant idiot from Namesecure on the phone first to tell them why...
With further thought; if they are true to form, it will be a voice recognition system!

I made the mistake of signing up with namesecure, but quickly called the number posted above to get a refund. Am I going to have trouble with the domain name, since I got that thru namesecure?? Not a good start for me, but at least I'm getting out before too much damage was done...thanks to everyone's posts!

Thanks much for the phone number; it worked. My namesecure email has been down for 20 days, and they are not allowing me to unlock my domains so I can transfer out of there. Ridiculous. Avoid namesecure at all costs!

Namesecure. Whew, I have so many clients pissed at me and demanding help on their emails...and now Namesecure is trying to get them to pay up for $7.95 just to make their email work! These people lie, they do not give a crap, and they will screw you twelve ways to Sunday.
Try to transfer out. The law requires them to cooperate. If not, there will be an enormous class-action suit and maybe in 10 years we'll all get 11 cents.
Move to another company and do it fast!

every one suggests jumping ship, but no one is recommending a better service provider, like all of you i was happy with them since 2000 but since nov they have suddenly turned into lousy money making monsters with no regard to so called long term customer relations and business integrity, any one got a better idea who is honest in the cyber space?
