I want a set of bluetooth stereo phones for when I exercise. I'd previously tried the Motorola SD phones which despite being supposedly sweatproof were proven repeatedly to not be so I returned them. If they were sweat proof then I'd like them a lot.
The next ones I'm trying are the RocketFush RF-MAB2 phones. These are a little bigger and cover your ear. They fit well and you don't need to worry about them coming loose during exercise. Battery life is very good at 12 hours. I also looked at the JayBird JB200 but I'd read reviews that fit is an issue and battery life is only 6 hours. They also cost 130 bucks at my local Target.
The RF-MAB2s only cost 40 bucks. The price of a normal set of phones. I've tried exercising with them twice now. Running each time. If I don't wear a sweat band on the head then they do start to cut out after about 20 minutes of runnings. I sweat a lot so this will vary but the bottom line is they did drop out. I ran today wearing a large head sweat band and they worked flawlessly with the band absorbing the sweat.
You can also watch Video with these. The Motorola SD H9s had a really bad lag so the audio was a lot behind the video which made watching videos impossible. The RF-MAB2 are perfect for video, there is still a very tiny lag but it's very watchable and hardly noticeable.
Comfort wise, they do press on your ears a little. This means a couple of hours of wearing them and it starts to get uncomfortable.
For now, I think I'll keep them. They are better than normal head phones and have a very long battery life. I'll update in a couple of weeks on more testing during exercise but they do have a sweat problem.
UPDATE:
Very happy with these. The price just went up also to 60 bucks at Best Buy with the same model number. I've used them a few times now while running and if you wear a sweat band then I've had no issues with sweat during exercise.
