Woke up this morning and no Drobo drive on my iMac. It was working yesterday. The Drobo is all green, it's still attached with USB, the Drobo dashboard mac application sees it and everything is green, the disk utility sees it but it won't mount. I noticed there was a new firmware level, 1.3.6 so I upgraded it to that but same result. I've rebooted the Drobo (firmware upgrade and yes, the dashboard says it's applied), rebooting the iMac did nothing either.
The USB light on the Drobo is flickering like crazy so something is going on, I'm guessing there is a major check disk happening which is worrying seeing as it's a journaled file system on the Drobo. I opened a support ticket so we'll see but I can't believe my luck with this thing lately. It's just one thing after another.
This may be the last straw for me. I'm leaving on a trip today so I'm sure Drobo support will close my ticket as solved during the week while I'm away. What a PITA...
I'm running Verify Disk in Disk Utility now and there are lots of "Missing thread record (id=???)" messages while checking the catalog. Not looking good. "Incorrect number of thread records" is also there a couple of times.
I'm running Repair disk now, lots of issues. Not looking good. Looks like some kind of media failure last night but Drobo didn't notice the media failure, no messages, no emails, nothing was critical. Pretty poor showing by the looks of things. Repair disk couldn't repair the disk.
Now trying latest DiskWarrior. It's reporting disk malfunctions. 7 by now. Not looking good either. DiskWarrior just completed saying the volume is unrepairable so thats pretty much it. It's toast.
I'm experiencing the exact same problems. Rather frustrating given that drobo was supposed to solve my anxiety regarding data safety!

DItto for me. I performed a Drobo Dashboard update and it appears that is when my woes began. Dashboard sees the Drobo, Disk Utility sees the volume and says that it has repaired it but I cannot mount the drive.
I have also updated the Drobo f/w. I suspect the latest updates....
Running Mac OSX 10.5.8.
Support ticket submitted, let's see what Drobo come up with?

Mine is stuck in a continuous reboot cycle after updating dashboard and the firmware. (DROBO S)

I've had it with Drobo; these issues have persisted for me for ages now. Just when things are going smoothly, the Drobo will disappear, re-appearing when it feels like it. Given the cost of unit + drives, I'm wondering if it would be better to buy two standard 4tb external drives and mirror them.
