I just got a quote from a Porsche dealer on this. The parts are around 950 bucks and installed, a new PDK clutch will cost 1900 dollars. This doesn't seem so bad given it's about or less than the cost of a new clutch on a manual car and you gotta figure a PDK clutch will outlast a conventional one given the computer does the shifting. It'll be interesting to see whether it outlasts a manual clutch in practise.
So, were you thinking about installing the 997 PDK in the 996 or do now drive a 997?

HI, I've got an '02 996 Targa. Just replaced the intermediate seal for the third time (30K miles). Found metal shavings in the oil filter after. All done at dealer. I'm mad and want to put Porsche North America on notice if engine trouble develops. Suggestions? Also, what extended warranty do you have? I'm also looking into that route as well. Thanks for any input!

Not even possible I think. I was just wondering how much the clutch change would cost in a PDK gear box.
